There are a few changes for travellers going to the UK and European Union starting today (January 8th). The UK’s ETA expansion is just one example of several new electronic entry programmes being rolled out around the world.
On our recent trip to Germany, we visit the beautiful medieval city of Esslingen – or Esslingen am Neckar if you want its full name. From our base just outside of Speyer/Hockenheim in Germany, our day trip to Esslingen started at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart before taking the short 15 minute drive to the centre of Esslingen. We’ve been to Stuttgart numerous times –usually for the Cannstatter Volksfest (Oktoberfest), but until recently didn’t realize Esslingen was so close or we’d have visited it sooner!
We’re seriously missing the charm of Europe … it’s been WAY too long! Can’t wait for Herbst when we’ll find ourselves back in Germany once again. Non-stop service to London will operate year-round from Calgary and Toronto CALGARY, Jan. 6, 2016 /CNW/ – WestJet today announced it is extending two of its new non-stop transatlantic services to London (Gatwick) from seasonal to year-round. Flights from Calgary (3x per week) and Toronto (daily) to London will now operate on a year-round basis through the winter, while service from Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg and St. John’s will operate seasonally as announced in September 2015.

The GO Group has launched an updated app that allows travellers to book a GO Airport Shuttle from their mobile phones. The new version called GO Airport Shuttle, stores users’ personal information, which speeds up the booking process thereby making it easy for travelers to find transportation in their destination city. To make a reservation, users simply access the app and enter their flight, arrival and/or destination information and the app connects them with reservations for an airport shuttle service.
