Day Trip To Cannstatter Volksfest (Oktoberfest), Stuttgart

We posted the video of our day at Cannstatter Volksfest in 2018, but forgot to add the article… oops. Well here’s the article, better late than never ;>) Oktoberfest…. It’s as German as high-quality cars, the autobahn and superb beer. In this instalment from our recent Germany trip, we’ve covered the beautiful medieval city of Tübingen and the amazing Lichtenstein Castle from our base just outside of Speyer/Hockenheim.

Champ Car F1X2 Two-Seater … Thrill Of A Lifetime!

Although not exactly a travel article, this was an experience that included travel and adventure… Originally published on a racing website in 2007, we’ve included it here for our readers to hopefully enjoy. We both got to enjoy the experience, but Gail wrote the article. Ride of a lifetime … we’ve heard that expression used before with previous generations of Champ Car and Indy Car two-seaters, and to me it always sounded so cliché – so when I was asked to help promote the Champ Car F1X2 (F1 times 2) two-seater program I promised myself that I would find a more apt description for the experience. Unfortunately I have to admit that there really is no better way to sum it up … it is a thrill of a lifetime … every race junkie’s dream … something you’ll never forget.

Germany: A Day Trip To Heppenheimer & Michelstadt

During our most recent trip to Germany, we went there with only one thing in mind – relax, no crazy driving all over the country to see the sights. This was our “visit friends tour and chill trip.” But we HAD to see a couple of towns – it just wouldn’t be a trip without that! So, we agreed that we’d only do our “towning” on one day. With that in mind, off we went to Heppenheimer (birthplace of F1 driver Sebastien Vettal) and Michelstadt which is just up the road… sort of.

Staying Close To Home – Exploring Ontario: Prince Edward County, Picton Ontario

Living in Ontario for us is somewhat dull – we’d rather be off travelling around Europe or the Caribbean, but millions of people from around the world come to Canada and Ontario specifically for their holidays or vacation time. We don’t understand it, but people we talk to in other countries don’t understand why we go to their country for a holiday! Since we’re not flying anywhere anytime soon, we’re focusing on travelling closer to home by car for the time being – re-discovering home if you will.

Staying Close To Home: Exploring Ontario – Muskoka, Ontario

This is the first of several articles that we’re going to be doing… Ever since the world-wide lockdowns we have been wondering when or IF we’ll get to travel again. You’ve probably noticed we’ve been very quiet for the past 2 year – we just didn’t know what to expect going forward, and even if we were going to continue doing TravelBloggers anymore. Now that things are a bit clearer we’ve decided to continue, but we’re staying close to home… for now.
